Metamorphosis was in my studio when the Eaton Fire burned it. The sculpture was mostly destroyed, but a single leg survived, fused with glass and metal from the heat. The original piece was about transformation and the end of the Anthropocene, humans learning to live with nature. The Eaton Fire was a climate change disaster caused by the Anthropocene, so it’s fitting that this piece was transformed by that force.
